Technical

• The Flipper Hat improves your ability to resist the current in the River by 50%.
• The Flipper Hat costs 2500.

Strategy

Use the hat as an advantage when someone's attacking you. Make a trap at the end of the river by placing 2 saplings at the end of the river before hand. Then let a person chase you into the river near the end of river (make sure they don't have the Fllipper hat) if you did it correctly they will now be stuck in the river. Now you can start hitting them with a long melee weapon or shoot them with arrows to depleat their food supply. You can even brings some animals to kill them just make sure they dont use them to buy the flipper hat.

Using

• Use the Flipper Hat to cross the River with ease.
• Use the Flipper Hat to run away from more dangerous Enemies by hopping into the River and going against the current.
• Kill enemies by chasing them into the River and use your improved agility to terminate them.
• Wear a different Hat when you are not in the Water.
• Give yourself an edge over Mobs and Enemies by placing things (spikes, walls) to block their escape while wearing this hat. If they are not also using Flipper Hat, they will have a hard time getting out while being attacked. It's an even better idea to place two Saplings at the ends of the River. When placed correctly, it's impossible for Enemies to escape without the Flipper Hat, as Saplings are impossible to break and the current pushes them downwards.
  • If they aren't placed correctly, however, the person who you have trapped will be able to get out, although they might need to get Monkey Tail to do so.

Against

• Using the Platform also allows you to stand still in the water.
• Use Ranged Weapons allows you to hit Players using the Flipper Hat in the River.

Trivia

• The Flipper Hat is one of only two Animal Hats in the game that isn't free, with the other being the Bull Mask.
• When using the Musket with the Flipper Hat, one's right arm would appear to have been turned red, due to the tongue of the fish overlapping the character's arm.
• There is a Mob in the datafiles, called Fish, that resembles the Flipper Hat. However, the Fish mob lacks the tongue that the Flipper hat has.
• The Flipper hat is best used for escaping in the River and River Trolling.
